The
LSU CADGIS Research Laboratory has a database driven map application of the campus. The live, searchable, database-driven maps are built on
an Intergraph Geomedia Webmap/Web Publisher platform, and is accessible by clicking
http://campusmap.lsu.edu/map.
The maps have interactive
features such as browser "tool-tips" and are searchable by different attributes such as buildings, streets, etc.. There are also a number of panoramas created by Geography and CoAD
students showing various locations on campus.
The mapping data and graphics is currently stored in MicroSoft SQL Server. The maps are based upon 2007 data and will be updated continuously. Currently, any Java-enabled browsers on any platform (Windows, Mac, Linux) will be able to take advantage of the interactive features and controls on the map. Users will be asked if they wish to download a Java applet.
